At the dawn of the 21st Century, it became evident that the internet has indeed brought about the death of distance and the arrival of a global village. Indeed, the world is moving with great speed towards a digital society.

One challenge that remains in developing countries is: How do we bridge the digital divide that Africa in general, and Zambia in particular, are facing?

To answer this question, the Zambia ICT College has undergone a total transformational change - from being an in-service skills training Centre in 1972 when it was created - to an ultra-modern Centre of Excellence in the provision of Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs), Business and Engineering skills training.

In today’s digital society, knowledge economy and green markets, the industry is looking for highly-skilled, talented and innovative workers who are ripe to transform business, industry, governance and people’s lives through innovation.

At the Centre of every innovation is ICTs which is taking multiskilling and multitasking to another level. This is evident if we look at the more than 12 million Zambians using ICTs on their mobile telephones.

In the pursuit of Vision 2030, the Government of the Republic of Zambia has launched the SMART Zambia initiative in which the development of human capital through the use of ICTs and digital platforms are key in the realization of a prosperous middle income country by 2030.

To prepare the current and next generations of Zambians for today’s digital society, we at ZICT-College are ready to train and re-skill learners at our ICT Centre of Excellence (ICE) and through e-Learning platforms so that our people can be employable as well as be enterprising.

It is said that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

For those with a passion for professional development, the Zambia ICT College have the requisite skills, topnotch equipment, excellent environment, right experience and the innovation to walk with you towards the digital society.
